About the Job
This position reports directly to our Director of Operations and will work closely with our Director of Business Development, Project Managers and the Fabrication Manager to assist and support them as needed with ongoing design projects using Vectorworks. We are looking for a high energy, positive and enthusiastic team member with strong visual communication skills and advanced knowledge of design who can learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced live events-based business. Our ideal candidate has technical drawing skills, cnc machine file preparation experience and an aptitude for design.
While the role can be remote (lower mainland based), attending site visits, in office production and client meetings will be required.

GENERAL DUTIES
- Support the design of projects through the use of Vectorworks,
- Assist and support the sales, fabrication and operations teams with ongoing design projects
- Drawing file setup, management and production – this will include construction drawings, floorplans and renderings for multiple projects
- Prepare construction plans, elevations and details in collaboration with project team and ensure completion of content and deliverables
- Prepare CAD drawings for CNC router, knife, and plasma cutting machines
- Prepare CAD drawings for submission to third party engineers and liaise as needed for drawing completion and final submission
- Create 3D CAD models for scale models, full scale set pieces and for preparing molds
- Design development of collateral and marketing materials as required
- Design and develop project collateral for project bids and sales submissions
- Design development of new custom built rental inventory products
- Follow and maintain safety standards and procedural guidelines

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Completion of post secondary education in CAD Technology, Graphics
- Communications Technology or similar program is an assett
- Vectorworks proficiency is mandatory
- Strong computer skills on PC and Mac including proficient working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with other design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD and SketchUp are beneficial but not required
- Aptitude for learning new computer programs / software
